We present to your attention the new release of the photo project “Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”
Today you will see the series of photos dedicated to the Metal and Stone Department of the Lavra Museum of Cults and Life (part of the All-Ukrainian Museum Town) date from the 1920s - early 1930s. The department was headed by Petro Kurinny, the Director of the Museum.








Did you know that the architect of the Lavra Bell Tower, Johann-Gottfried Schedel, several times during his life “changed his name” in documents related to his career?
Did you know that in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra various food reserves, including sour cabbage, beets, potatoes, and onions were annually prepared during the XIX century for the needs of pilgrims, the poor, as well as for people who worked for free at the Gostynnyi Dvir (Hospitable Courtyard)?
Let us introduce the new release of the photo project devoted to the memorable pages of the history of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Today you will get the knowledge about foreign guests that visited the Preserve between 1920s and 1930s.
Did you know that: Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was the target of repressions imposed by the Russian tsarist regime during the trial of Tsarevytch Oleksiy Petrovych, the son of Russian tsar Peter I.
Did you know that: 108 years ago, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra took part in the exhibition of horticulture and gardening that was held in Kyiv. Its participation was recognized as triumphant.
Did you know that during 1923–1931, the Kyiv Prosthetic Factory of the People’s Commissariat of Health of the USSR was located in the hotel building (Nr. 19), constructed in 1906–1908 according to the project of architect Yevhen Yermakov?
