Curious facts about Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
Did you know thatin the second half of the 1920s, the staff of the State Historical and Cultural Preserve “All-Ukrainian Museum Town” (located on the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra) carried out restoration works on the South (Clock) Tower of Mazepa’s Wall?
In spring 1925, this historical and architectural monument “split” due to the melt-water energy. During conservation works, the foundation of the building was strengthened. Besides, the Tower was tightened on two levelswith a steel hoop.
