Did you know that the original plans of the Lavra caves were created in 1825 for the publication of the  Description of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by Metropolitan Yevgeniy Bolkhovitinov?

The measurement of the caves were made by Evgraf Panfilov, the member of the military engineering team, under the direction of architect Andriy Melensky. Engravings with plans of the Near and Far Caves were executed by the Lavra monk Nikon (Malyutyn).
